Customer price quotes in Scrap Dragon are useful for giving out special pricing for a one time purchase. Do not confuse this with special pricing that can be set up for any customer-commodity combination.
The ability to enter price quotes can be given to any user by putting the option on their user menu. At the scale, the scrap buyer can view the price quotes for the selected customer using the price override button.
To give a user the ability to enter price quotes:
1. Go into Back Office; Maintenance; Setup: Security (Users and Clearances)
2. On the List Tab, highlight the user for which price quotes will be made available
3. Click the Details Tab. Then click User Menu
4. Find the option Customer Quotes in the list on the left and move it to the list on the right
5. Using the up/down drag control, move the Customer Quotes option to the desired position on the menu
To enter a quote for a customer:
1. From the Main Screen, click on User Menu
2. Select the Customer Quotes option (it may be on a subsequent page)
3. Choose the customer from the customer finder
4. A list of previously entered quotes will be displayed
5. Click NEW to enter a new quote or choose an existing quote to edit
6. The default menu for the workstation will appear
7. The menu can be changed by clicking on the MENU button
8. The customer can be changed by clicking on the CUSTOMER button
9. Select the Commodity from the menu
10. Click on the price button to specify the price
11. Click on the Expiration button to change the Expiration Date (default is 3 days)
12. Optionally click on the Notes button to enter notes
12. Optionally click on the Weight button to enter a weight
13. Save, Delete or Cancel as desired
To retrieve quotes at when entering tickets at the scale:
1. Start a ticket for a customer
2. Select the commodity
3. Click the Price button.
4. Click the View Quotes button.
5. A list of quotes for the customer will be displayed
6. Select the appropriate quote – the commodity does not have to exactly match
7. The details of the quote will be displayed
8. If the quote has not expired, click OK to accept the price, otherwise click Cancel.
