Before uploading data to the Texas DPS, there is special data that must be setup in 4 master files; Makes, Models, Commodity Master and Customer Master.

From the detail tab of this screen, enter the TCIC code for each auto make. A list of TCIC codes is available for download below.

Back Office; Master Files; Commodity Master
For the State of Texas, you are required to report purchase transactions for Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Bronze, Lead and a specific list of Regulated Metals. For each of these reportable commodities:
- Enter the Special Report Group – Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Bronze, LeadMaterial or RegulatedMetals – if any of these choices are not available, they can be added in Back Office; Maintenance; Setup; User Defined Tables; Commodity Govt Type prompt
- Enter the Special Report Value – this will always be 1 for any regulated commodities
- Enter the Government Report Description from the approved description list. A list of approved descriptions is available for download below.
- For items that are sometimes purchased by the each, e.g. Batteries and Catalytic converters, you must enter a standard weight per unit. This can be an estimate.
Back Office; Master Files; Customer Master
For each business customer, on the orange Buy tab, check the box marked Exempt from State Reporting.
NOTE: When entering a customer's delivery vehicle information, there can be no dashes or spaces in the plate number. If you already have many license plates with spaces and dashes, contact the help desk for a global fix that is available.
